In the MSET program, I have completed each of the following courses.
Fall 2009
LT 741 Introduction to Distance Education Dr. Lynette Molstad
Gorder
Overview: This course was an excellent course for me to begin the MSET
program with. The course covered all aspects of distance education from
the first correspondence courses to the modern day internet era. I learned
a great deal about the philosophies and ideas behind distance learning, and the
concepts needed to be successful in it's implementation.

LT 785 Research Methods in Educational Technology Dr. Don Wiken
Overview: This was a challenging and interesting course in Research
Methods. In this course, we completed several assignments in which we were
to analyze data, using multiple methods. I had very little experience with
this subject area when the course started, and although it was one of the more
difficult courses I took in the program, it was also one that I learned a great
deal in.

it covered the use of a number of different programs. However, there was a
bit more of an "experimental" feel to this course. Many of the programs
and projects that were completed were innovative and new ideas, such as the use
of the Google Voice program.

CET 756 Introduction to Instructional Programming Dr. Haomin
Wang
Overview: In this course, I was introduced to the world of "client side"
web page programming. We used javascript to complete a number of different
assignments. This was an extremely informative and challenging course.
I had little to no experience with programming before this class, and was able

CET 758 Advanced Instructional Programming Dr. Haomin
Wang
Overview: This was the most challenging course that I have taken in the
course of my educational career. In this course we used Advanced Server
Protocol (ASP) to introduce us to the concept of "server side" programming.
We learned how to integrate a database into a webpage, and how you can enter
information and recall information from that database. Successfully
completing the final project in this course was the highlight of my educational
career to this point.

CET 795 Practicum (1 credit) Dr. Mark Hawkes
Overview: For my Practicum, I worked at Chamberlain High School with our
Technology Director, Nathaniel Winter. I worked in the technology office

practicum I was able to fill the role of what a technology director does on a
day to day basis. This included things like: changing the hard drive in a
computer, troubleshooting problems with student computers, and installing
programs on an ipad. Throughout the length of the course, I submitted
weekly reports to my advisor, Dr. Hawkes. The experience and confidence I
