The three themes I have chosen to represent my learning through the MSET program are:  Technology, Instructional Design, and Leadership.  I feel each of these ideas are of vital importance to me as I move forward in my career as an educator.

Technology
As related to my philosophy of education, the correct implementation and use of technology is critical in moving forward.  This does not mean to use technology for the sake of using it, but to use it as a powerful tool to enhance and improve the education of all students for the improvement of society.

Instructional Design
The theme of instructional design is critical in the field of educational technology.  A solid foundation in learning, how students learn, and the best practices to implement that learning is needed to ensure the success of programs.  Just making a website, and putting information is not instruction.  Curricula must be developed with a knowledge of procedures and practices that will encourage the best possible learning environment for the students.
